Description
Genuine Bosch BP2225N front brake pad set. Bosch part 0 986 AB2 225, also catalogued as DB300BL. Nine sets in stock.
Eighties Honda, and the good ones. The box names two cars and nothing else:
-
Honda CR-X, 1984 to 1988
-
Honda Prelude, 1983 to 1987
Both are getting harder to keep on the road. Front pads for them are not something the big chains carry any more. Nine sets is more than most people will ever need.
Type approved, and the box proves it. The label carries E11 90R-02A01487/49765. That is a full ECE R90 approval issued under the United Kingdom authority. R90 is the standard a replacement pad must meet to be sold for road use.
The pad itself. DB300 measures 116mm long, 45mm wide and 14.9mm thick, four pads to the set. Worth checking against your old ones. A car this age may well have had something non-standard fitted along the way.
Other brands. Bendix DB300. FMSI D256. Akebono A-111K and AN-111K. Hitachi NDP215C.
We have deliberately not listed a long run of Honda part numbers. The interchange index lumps dozens together across many different Honda pads. Picking the right one for an eighties CR-X out of that list is guesswork. Tell us the car and we will look it up properly.

Fitment
Honda CR-X or Prelude of that era, on the front. Send the chassis number and we will check it against the number.
Fitting
- Forty year old calipers. Expect the slide pins to be seized and plan for it.
- Check the flexible hoses at the same time. They perish from the inside out.
- Both sides together, and take the bed-in slowly.
- If the disc has a lip you can catch a fingernail on, sort that out before the new pads go near it.
Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
