Description
Genuine Bosch GPN-324 glow plug. Five in stock.
Nissan, not Toyota. This crosses to Nissan 11065-C8600, listed against the Patrol GR Y61 and its Japanese market twin the Safari, with the 2.8 turbo diesel. The HKT and VSP glow plug catalogues both pair this Nissan number with the RD28ETi from around 1997 onwards. Some catalogues also list it against earlier Patrol 160 and 260 series 3.2 diesels.
Six cylinders means six plugs. The RD28ETi is a straight six, so a full set is six, not four. We have five, so if you are doing the lot you will need one more from somewhere.
Y61 Patrols and Safari imports are thick on the ground here. The 2.8 is less common than the 4.2, but the ones that are about tend to be well used and cold starting is the first complaint.
Other numbers. Nissan 11065-C8600. NGK Y-755RS, stock number 7771. HKT PN-131.
What the box actually says
- Bosch GPN-324
- Barcode 9311831025324
That is the lot. Unlike some of the other Bosch glow plugs we hold, this carton carries no Bosch F number and no country of manufacture on any visible face, so we are not going to claim either.
Fitment
Anything calling for Nissan 11065-C8600. Rego or engine number through and we will confirm it before it ships.
Fitting
- Cold engine. These are long plugs in an old iron head and they do seize.
- Penetrant and patience beats a longer bar every time.
- Light torque only. They need far less than feels right.
- Check the glow relay and the timer. If the old plugs cooked, something upstream may have done it.
Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
