Description
First Line FWP1715 water pump for Audi and Volkswagen. One in stock, box unopened.
A change of brand from the GMB boxes. First Line are a British aftermarket name. This one has clearly spent a long time on a shelf, with a soft green carton and a couple of layers of labelling.
Reading the labels. The printed one gives FWP 1715 and AUDI, nothing more. Over it sits a Partmaster sticker with QCP3212 struck out and WP1142 written on by hand. That is a distributor cross referencing the part to two other brands, which is useful rather than worrying.
The OE numbers. First Line list FWP1715 against Volkswagen and Audi 026 121 005 F. Alongside it sit 026 121 005 K, 026 121 005 L and 050 121 010 A. One supplier names the Audi 1.8 with the ADR and AEB engine codes.
Same pump, other badges. Borg & Beck BWP1715, Quinton Hazell QCP3212, Dolz A183, SKF VKPC 81402, febi 10013, Gates WP0312, Dayco DP451, BGA CP3198 and Valeo 506594.
We hold an alternative. Our Optibelt WP1142 is the same pump under a German badge, and it is the number written on this very box. If price matters more than brand, look at that one first.
Fitment
Audi and Volkswagen running the 026 121 005 family of pumps. That number covers a wide spread of cars. Match it against the number on your old pump, or send us the rego and we will check it properly.
Fitting
- Cam belt sits over it, so belt, tensioner and rollers belong in the same job.
- Renew the coolant outright and look at the thermostat while the system is open.
- Clean the face, new seal, and bring the bolts up in stages.
- Bleed it through the correct point and watch the temperature on the first drive.
- Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
