Description
GMB GUMZ-12 staked universal joint for Mazda and Ford light trucks and vans. New old stock, never fitted. The box shows storage age. The joint is new and unused.
Six in stock.
What the box says. The label reads UNIVERSAL JOINT MAZDA/FORD (STAKED). It gives no sizes. This is the newer red GMB box, marked OE certified manufacturer. Unlike our older GMB stock, it does not name a country of origin.
Size. GMB list it at 24.06mm caps and 71.4mm across. The Mazda number is P001-25-060.
What it fits. GMB list GUMZ-12 for the Mazda B2000 and B2200 light truck. Ford sold that truck here as the Courier. A GMB stockist also lists it for the Mazda E1800 van, which Ford sold as the Econovan. Owners report fitting it to the Bongo Friendee rear shaft and the early MPV.
Measure first. These trucks used more than one joint over the years. Some take GUMZ-6, a bigger 28mm circlip joint. Check the caps on your old joint before you order.
It is staked. The factory peens the yoke over to hold the caps. There are no clips and no grease nipple.
Fitment
Get a vernier on the old joint. You want 24mm across a cap and 71.4mm overall. Send us your rego and we will do the digging if you would rather we did.
Fitting
- Mark the shaft halves before you separate them so they go back in phase.
- Remove the old stakes, then press out the old joint.
- Press the new joint in and stake the yoke to hold the caps.
- Check the joint turns freely with no tight spots.
Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
