Description
GMB GWG-90A water pump for the Daewoo four cylinder. Made in Japan, two on the shelf.
Both cartons have knocked about a store room for years without ever being opened. The pumps have never seen coolant.
The label says one word: DAEWOO. No model, no engine, no year. That is the whole of it, so the detail below comes from catalogues rather than the box.
What the catalogues give. A water pump reference guide puts GWG-90A against the Daewoo Lanos, chassis KLAT, 1.4 litre, from May 1997. The Daewoo number given is 96350799. Parts suppliers list the same GMB number alongside 96351969, 96352648, 96872704 and 90325660. Several sell it for the Chevrolet and Daewoo Kalos and the Aveo 1.5.
If you are in a Barina. The Kalos and Aveo were sold here as the Holden Barina TK. Same car, different badge. That said, the Aveo listing comes from sellers, not the reference guide. Worth a check rather than a guess.
Fitment
Daewoo four cylinder, Lanos 1.4 confirmed by catalogue, Kalos and Aveo 1.5 from seller data. Nothing useful is printed on this box. Give us the rego or the number off the old pump and we will pin it down.
Fitting
- Belt driven, so the cam belt and tensioner belong in the same job.
- Drain it out and change the coolant properly rather than topping up the old stuff.
- Face clean, new gasket, bolts pulled up evenly and not over hard.
- Bleed the air out and run it up twice before you call it finished.
- Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
