Description
Water pump for the Nissan SD23 diesel. GMB GWN-37A, made in Japan, one pump to a box.
Decades on a shelf and not one minute in an engine. The carton is scuffed and tired. What is inside it is not.
The warehouse label reads W/PUMP NIS SD23. That is all the box gives you, an engine and no model.
The SD23 is Nissan's 2.3 litre diesel four, an indirect injection engine built through the late seventies and eighties.
Where catalogues put it. Suppliers list GWN-37A against the Nissan 720 ute, the Cabstar F22 and the Navara D21. They cross reference it to Nissan 21010-10G25 and 21010-10G26. Other brands sell the same pump as NPW N-27, Dolz N-127, Saleri PA811 and Quinton Hazell QCP2838.
Those same catalogues also show it on the 2.5 litre SD25. Our box names the SD23 only. Treat the SD25 as a maybe and read the number off your old pump.
Fitment
Nissan SD23 2.3 diesel, per the label. Send us the rego, or the number off the pump you are taking out, and we will match it.
Fitting
- Coolant out first, and catch it. On an old diesel it will be filthy.
- Both faces wire brushed until the new gasket has something flat to sit on.
- Nip the bolts up evenly in a criss cross pattern, no impact gun.
- Refill, purge the air, then run it and watch the gauge.
- Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
