Outer CV joint for the Mitsubishi Lancer. HDK MI-029, and it replaces Mitsubishi MR222056.

Never fitted. Old stock, so the box looks its age. The joint inside does not.

The box names the Lancer and gives the sizes. A=23, B=54, C=25, D=66. So 23 teeth inside, a 54 mm seal, 25 outer spline teeth and a 66 mm body. It carries no ring.

Parts catalogues run MR222056 across a number of Lancer, Colt, Galant, Space Runner and Space Wagon models. The box gives no years and no engine.

Lancers are not all the same. Mitsubishi used several outer joints on them, and some carry an ABS ring. Count the teeth on yours and measure across the seal. Or send the rego over and we will check.

Fitting

  • Old circlip off, new one on, splines cleaned up first.
  • Grease right through the cage, then the boot and both clamps.
  • Axle nut to the Mitsubishi torque figure.
  • Full lock left and right on the road test. A click means it is not right.
  • Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
