Fitting

  • A tensioner is a belt job. Fit a new timing belt at the same time.
  • Set the engine on its timing marks before the old belt comes off.
  • Torque the pulley bolt to the factory figure and set the belt tension by the book.
  • Turn the engine over twice by hand and check the marks again before it starts.
  • Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
