Description
Surehalt DB1145SH disc brake pad set. One set here.
These are rear pads. The label reads D/P R MER 200 300 SERIES, and the R is the important letter. Disc pad, rear, Mercedes 200 and 300 series. Our other Surehalt sets are front, so check the axle before you order.
Which Mercedes. The DB1145 number belongs to the W124 and S124 generation, the saloon and the wagon. Sold elsewhere as a rear set for the 200T wagon around 1986 to 1990 and the 230E from 1985 to 1992, and the 300 series cars of the same era sit in the same group. Those were sold new here and plenty are still on the road.
Mercedes part numbers in this rear axle group include 000 420 98 20, 000 420 88 20, 000 420 90 20, 001 420 01 20, 002 420 01 20 and 002 420 00 20.
Other brands. Bendix DB1145. Ferodo FDB328, FDB693 and FDB979. Bosch 0986424358, 0986466871 and 0986466874. Delphi LP440, LP915 and LP947. Mintex MDB1222, MDB1480, MDB1560 and MDB1643. Jurid 571344J, 571555J and 571753J. FMSI D335 and D426.
Those come off an interchange page that covers several Bendix numbers at once, so treat them as a way to narrow things down rather than a promise. The W124 ran more than one rear caliper across its life.

Fitment
Mercedes 200 and 300 series on the rear, where the car calls for DB1145. Send us the rego or the chassis number and we will pin down which rear caliper you have.
Fitting
- Rear pads on a W124 are straightforward, but the handbrake shoes live inside the rear disc. Worth a look while you are in there.
- Wind the piston back slowly and watch the reservoir level.
- Do both sides, and check the disc faces before you commit the new pads to them.
- Go easy on the brakes until the new material has taken to the disc.
Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
