Fitment
The label reads K5 Accord 2.0 Honda. Tenacity's catalogue lists AWSHO1013 as the torque rod for the Accord 2.0 and 2.2 automatic, 1990 to 1994. Honda list 50830-SM4-A81 as the automatic torque rod for the 1990 to 1993 Accord.
- Honda Accord CB, 2.0 and 2.2, automatic, 1990 to 1993.
Automatic only. The manual Accords of those years use a different torque rod, Honda 50830-SM4-020. Read the Honda number off your old one, or send us the rego.
A torque rod stops the engine rocking forward and back. When it is worn you get a thump as you select drive or reverse. A shudder on take off often comes with it.
Fitting
- Support the engine before the rod is undone.
- Check the engine mounts while you have access.
- Torque both bolts with the engine at rest.
- Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
